DEATH ON CONTACT may result if 1.003 DISP personnel fail to observe safety precautions. 1.004 DISP Warm-up time: 30 minutes (power OFF). 1.004 DISP Ambient temperature: 21C - 25C. 1.004 DISP Relative humidity: less than 80%. 1.005 HEAD CALIBRATION ACCESS PROCEDURE 1.006 DISP Disconnect the test leads and the battery eliminator 1.006 DISP if attached. Open the battery compartment, and 1.006 DISP disconnect the battery. Remove the three phillips-head 1.006 DISP screws from the bottom of the case. Turn the instrument 1.006 DISP face-up, and grasp the top cover at both sides of the 1.006 DISP input connectors. Then, pull the top cover from the UUT. 1.007 DISP Turn the UUT on. 1.008 HEAD DC VOLTAGE CALIBRATION 1.009 DISP Connect the 5700A and the UUT as follows. 1.009 DISP [32] 5700A OUTPUT HI to 8024B V Ohm 1.009 DISP [32] 5700A OUTPUT LO to 8024B COMMON 1.010 RNG 200mV 1.011 5700 190mV S 2W 1.012 DISP Adjust R6 for a reading of 190.0mV exactly. 1.013 DISP Connect a Jumper wire across Q10 and push 1.013 DISP the PEAK HOLD switch to the ON position. 1.014 5700 190mV S 2W 1.015 DISP Adjust R17 (PEAK HOLD) for a reading of 190.0mV exactly. 1.016 5700 * S 1.017 DISP Remove the Jumper wire from Q10. Push PEAK HOLD to OFF. 1.018 HEAD AC VOLTAGE CALIBRATION 1.019 RNG 200mV AC 1.020 5700 190mV 100H S 2W 1.021 DISP Adjust R4 for a reading of 190.0mV exactly. 1.022 5700 * S 1.023 DISP Select the 2V AC range. 1.024 5700 1.9V 5kH S 2W 1.025 DISP Adjust C1 for a reading of 1.900V (+/- 95 counts). 1.026 HEAD TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT 1.027 DISP Establish a lag bath (ice point environment) as 1.027 DISP shown in figure 4-6 of the 8024B manual. Allow 1.027 DISP the lag bath to stabilize for 30 minutes (to reach 1.027 DISP thermal equilibrium). 1.028 DISP Connect the thermocouple accessory to the UUT. 1.029 DISP Adjust the TEMP CAL (R10) for a UUT reading equal to 1.029 DISP the Temperature Reference Monitor reading. 1.030 END
